Answers to just about how anything you can think of works. This site has been around since 1998 and has slowly been evolving into a product review site (which I'm not too happy about) but is a great article reference if you want to know how something works.

Webopedia Computer & Tech Knowledge

An excellent resource for all things related to the Internet and computer technology. Webopedia has been around for much longer than Wikipedia but it is privately updated. It is not a CMS (wiki) site.

Definitions for thousands of the most current IT-related words. 

Wikipedia General Knowledge

By far my favorite reference site. Wikipedia has become indespensible as a specific information reference. Unfortunately, because the majority of the information is user submitted, it cannot be referenced as undisputable fact. However, because most of the information is posted by engineers, scientists, doctors and graduate students based on text book references, it seems to be a pretty solid reference site to me.
